Tea Targets and Moving Targets were printed on discarded black and white photographic paper from the 1950s. Due to its age, this paper would ordinarily turn black in the darkroom developer. These targets were created “magically” by manipulating the photographic chemistry as well as using resists and unconventional, colorful toners, including tea and wine. Representing a common symbol in magic shows and carnivals, these kaleidoscopic targets serves as metaphors that conjure a sense of wonder and mystery.
